A Summer
Learning Opportunity
The 7-session
adult learning opportunity offered on Wednesday evenings at 7PM that began
in July will continue for three more weeks in August. It is a video series
entitled “How Lutherans Interpret the Bible.” Dr. Mark Allen Powell, a
Lutheran Pastor and Bible professor at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, makes
the presentations. It is designed so that one can enter the conversation
at any point along the way. Opening the Book of Faith will also be used.
It is the first of several resources being developed as part of the ELCA
5-year initiative to help the “whole church become more fluent in the
first language of faith, the language of Scripture, in order that we might
live into our calling as a people renewed, enlivened, empowered, and sent
by the Word.” (Opening the Book of Faith p. vii)
